How St. Gabriel's Came to Be
Saint Gabriel's Episcopal Church is a young church. The church was founded in 2003 as mission plant, the daughter church of St. James' Episcopal Church in historic Leesburg in order to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the new and growing communities in Loudoun County.
Who We Are
We welcome people of all different backgrounds; from life-long Christians to spiritual seekers. We value the diversity of our members and we continually seek to be a church that reflects the breadth of the community in which we live.
Where is St. Gabriel's?
Due to an abundantly generous donation of land, St. Gabriel's will have over ten acres on which to build our future home. The land is located just east of Leesburg on the northeast corner of Battlefield Parkway and Fort Evans Road. We envision our future campus to include beautiful space for worship and community life, early childhood formation and education offerings, community service programs, after school programs, and inspiring places for outdoor sanctuary. We see our land as evidence of God's promise for the bright future of St. Gabriel's.
Meanwhile, we are blessed to have worship at four different locations: on Sundays our English service takes place at the Belmont Ridge Middle School and in Spanish at Saint James Episcopal Church in Leesburg. Christian formation and child care are provided. We worship at our outdoor Chapel in the Woods on the corner of Battlefield Parkway and Fort Evans Rd. in the warm season beginning at the Easter sunrise service. We workshop once a month with the retired community of Ashby Ponds on the third Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m.
Our sister churches in the area host us for weddings, funerals, and office space. Members often open their homes for small group gatherings and fellowship events, but we also use public places to be a presence of Christ's love for our neighbors in and around Leesburg.
The church is not a building, but the people gathered in faith! In response to the question, "When will you build the church?" we say, "We are building it each time we encounter people wherever we are." Come grow with us!
