Adult Formation & Lifelong Learning
Christian formation is the lifelong process of growing in our relationship with God, self, others, and all of creation.
Every experience in our lives can provide us with the opportunity to express our faith; the challenge we face is recognizing these opportunities and learning ways to live a sometimes counter-cultural life in a secular world.
followHim: A small group Christian formation program for adults meets monthly at different people´s homes. Kurt Aschermann, Lay Pastoral Associate coordinates this lay facilitated Christian Formation study model which gives participants the opportunity to learn more about their own faith in Christ through discussions that don't require advance preparation or having attended previous sessions. All are welcome to followHim! Call Kurt Aschermann for information of upcoming gathering locations 703-779-3616.
There are two followHim small groups; one for St. Gabriel's parishioners on the last Wednesday of the month from 7pm to 9pm and another on the last Tuesday of the month with the St. Gabriel's @ Ashby Ponds retirement community from 10a.m to noon.
Seasonal Adult Formation programs include Bible studies and Advent and Lenten forums in English and Spanish as well as field trips.
